Wines for Thanksgiving

Salmon Creek Chardonnay—California
A lush and smooth California chardonnay, easy to drink and easy to pair with food. Soft tones of vanilla and pineapple, with mellow acidity. Great with mild, soft cheeses and pairs well with lighter poultry dishes.

Cousino Macul Dona Isadora Riesling
A dry Riesling with attractive depth of flavor and refreshing acidity, this harmonious wine is a fine example of this classic varietal. Delicate aromas of flowers and honey and pleasant complexity on the palate combine to offer a perfect match for seafood, sushi and shellfish.

Bodega LAN ’05 Crianza
“Light scents of crushed rose petals and frisky cherry tomato flavors give this a bright, zesty tone. The tannins are also light, with a gravelly feel. This is a versatile red for olives and jamon Serrano, or more substantial meats such as duck. 90 Points.” - Wine & Spirits

14 Hands Washington State Merlot
14 Hands Merlot exhibits classic Washington aromas of blackberries and dark stone fruits. Blackberries repeated on the palate and joined by touches of cherries and spice. While soft and luxurious in the mouth, this wine has a firm backbone of tannins. 78.5% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2.5% Cabernet Franc.

Bergstrom “O” Pinot Noir—Willamette Valley
Grown entirely in the Northern Willamette Valley, this is a blend of fruit forward Pinot Noir barrels from the 2007 and 2006 vintages. This lovely wine showcases aromas of violets and cherry/anise pastille candies with a bright and fruit-driven mouth-feel with great balance. The Bergström Ö Pinot Noir is a succulent early-drinking wine with a palate of ripe red and dark fruits and spices. This should drink very well with a wide range of food dishes.

Jonesy Port
“What a sensational value! Made by Trevor Jones in partnership with importer Dan Philips, this is a blend averaging 46 years in age. Its light to medium ruby hue is accompanied by an extraordinary bouquet of sweet candied fruit intermixed with notions of maple syrup, earth, and hazelnuts. This gorgeous tawny delivers plenty of pleasure. 93 Points.” - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
